Regional Building Design
Our collaborative has been involved in numerous architectural projects from conceptual design through to interior detailing and material specifications. Common to all of our designs is the integration of local environmental conditions including sun, wind, daylight, topography, and appropriate technology. This makes these buildings more efficient and reduces their dependency on non-renewable natural resources.

Furthermore, we believe it is important for our designs to understand and respond to those cultural and historical traditions that embody the spirit of place. This ensures that our designs, which incorporate the latest technology, are respectful of their context and local vernacular.

Green Buildings
Jakobsen Associates has expertise in the design and development of Green Buildings: buildings that minimize their impact on the environment. We have years of experience in designing innovative buildings that require fewer resources to construct and operate. These buildings maximize daylighting and passive solar energy, utilize natural ventilation to improve indoor air quality and reduce dependency on mechanical ventilation systems. They also incorporate ergonomically designed and ecologically sustainable interior and exterior building materials and include building envelopes that are durable and designed to last.
